One such video has emerged showing a speeding vehicle running over a group of farmers holding black flags and carrying out a demonstration. On Thursday evening, Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who were given permission by the UP government to visit Lakhimpur Kheri, also met the families of the deceased farmers. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice of India CJI NV Ramana has taken a suo motu cognizance of the violence and has listed the matter before a three-judge bench on Thursday.
