Jet Airways Made To Compensate Passenger With Rs 65,000 For Serving Him Non-Veg Food dnaindia.com
A consumer court has fined Jet Airways and directed the airline to pay compensation of Rs 65,000 to a passenger after they served him a non-vegetarian meal despite him ordering a vegetarian one.
According to a Times of India report, the passenger, Bhanuprasad Jani, a resident of Rajkot, and a self-proclaimed 'janeu-dhari Brahmin' filed the complaint after Jet Airways served him non-vegetarian food despite him pre-ordering an Asian vegetarian meal. He said that he had never eaten eggs in his life, and as a result felt sick after immediately tasting the food. He took pictures and videos of the same and approached the consumer redressal forum.
The airline, however, maintained that although ordered an Asian vegetarian meal, he later changed his order. The airline added that the meal had the non-veg label.
