Bollywood’s period love saga Kalank, that hit theatres on Wednesday, is breaking records at the box office just a day after the release. The film has made an opening collection of Rs 21.6 crore. Starring Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Sanjay Dutt, Madhuri Dixit and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles, Kalank is directed by Abhishek Varman. The film’s makers confirmed that the film earned Rs 21.6 crore on Wednesday, making it the highest opening of 2019. Akshay Kumar’s period war film Kesari earlier held the numero uno position with Rs 21 crore, closely followed by Alia Bhatt-Ranveer Singh-starrer Gully Boy that earned Rs 19.41 crore on day one of the release.
