National Conference (NC) chief Omar Abdullah came down heavily on BJP general secretary Ram Madhav allegation that the NC and PDP boycotted the Urban Local Body (ULB) elections in Jammu and Kashmir by acting behest of Pakistan. Taking to Twitter, Abdullah ‘dared’ Madhav to prove his allegations and put the evidence in public domain or “be man enough” to apologise.
On Wednesday, Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik dissolved the legislative assembly minutes after Mehbooba Mufti-led PDP staked claim to form the government with the support of Congress and National Conference. The Governor passed the order in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by Clause (b) of Section 53 of the Constitution of Jammu and Kashmir.
The BJP has called for an urgent meeting with all its MLAs on Thursday to decide the future course of action, BJP state president Ravinder Raina told ANI. “We wish that the Assembly elections in J&K should be conducted along with the Parliament elections,” he said.
The six-month tenure of the governor’s rule ends on December 18 which will be followed by President’s rule.
