Those In Power Have No Faith In Constitution, Judiciary: Ncp Chief Sharad Pawar dnaindia.com
Slamming BJP over its party president Amit Shah’s remarks on Supreme Court’s Sabarimala verdict, NCP chief Sharad Pawar said on Monday, “Those who are holding power do not have faith in Constitution, judiciary and administration, which is a dangerous sign for the country.”
Pawar was speaking at ‘Samvidhan Bhachao’ rally organised by the NCP in Pune on Monday. He took jibes at the ruling party over recent issues including feud among CBI officials, BJP’s stand on Supreme Court’s Sabarimala verdict, drought, and women safety.
Pawar criticised the BJP president for saying that the saffron party stands with the devotees. He said, “Shah went to Kerala and questioned the Supreme Court verdict saying such a decision can not be implemented. This statement clearly shows that BJP is not ready to accept the decision of the apex court. It also proves that the party does not support gender equality either.”
Slamming the BJP over the CBI controversy, Pawar claimed that the ruling party is misusing its powers. He said,”The entire country witnessed how the CBI chief was sent on a leave to be replaced by another who is already facing several inquiries. By taking such decisions, they want to convey a strong message to the entire system — that the administration should work as per their orders.”
“We all are witnessing how power is being being misused. It is also very clear how the Constitution is under attack to safeguard the interests of a few people,” Pawar said.
Referring the drought like situation as a worrisome issue, the former agriculture minister said that the government is not taking any decision to provide relief to people and animals of drought-affected regions.
